I am looking to get another Neffie. I had one in the past and he was the best dog in the world. But, he got cancer and I had to put him down per Vet’s advice. I adopted him when my son was 2 and he was our family’s best friend for 5 years. I would love to get another one. I currently live in Herning, Denmark and have no idea how to get one over here. I came the US recently and would love to have one as my friend to keep me company since I know just how great they are. If you could help me in my search I would appreciate it.

Hey there, Bridget.
We don’t have any specific leads to share, but we’d recommend checking out sites like PuppyFinder(though there are countless others).
Best of luck in your search!

We lost our Newfie Golden about 1 year ago. We would love to find another, whether it be a puppy or a rescue up to about 2 years. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. We live on Loveland Colorado

The unthinkable happened to my furry companion about a year ago to the day, Jan 17th. I wont go into great detail it was horrible. Our house caught fire while we were laying in bed, I was rubbing the bell, natural sleep aid. All I know is it started small ad engulfed our dwelling very fast. I smelled and saw ie, ran to get the hose but it wasnt long enough. For some reason Moose did not follow me out, 120 lbs timid sweet as could be. I went back in to the flames, there was dense smoke, I remember feeling around and not being able to breathe. I dont know how I got out. I ended up in the burn unit for a week and Moose didnt make it. I am still scarred heavily, mentally especially but physically also. Moose was a 9 y/o newf/lab. Best friend I ever had, rescued him as a pup. I have now determined that the only way to move on is going to find another buddy who likes to play in the woods and belly rub. It hard to even look at anothr. I am in Ohio now, If anybody out there knows of any pus that need a loving home that borders the CVNRA, give me a shot out please. He was my service dog. Sorry to share such a gloom story, need to talk and yall seem like youd understand my pain. Cheers.

I’m so sorry Jeremy, that is terrible to hear. I’m glad you are OK. I know you are still recovering and are in great physical and emotional pain, but when the time is right I am sure you will be able to bring another wonderful friend into your life. Don’t be afraid to take the time to grieve. Losing a pet is so hard.

I have two lab/Newfie mixes. The male has a lab dad/Newfie mom, and the female has a lab mom/Newfie dad. They are the best companions, and they are gorgeous! Smart, loving, eager to please and easy to train. I will probably stick with this mix going forward. They have short hair like a lab…so no grooming, hooray. The 125 lb male basically looks like a Newfoundland with short hair (big head and broad shoulders). The 110 lb female looks like a giant lab. They are becoming more common in Ohio and Pennsylvania if you want one. 🙂

The first dog (The Bernese/Newfie cross) is my dog, Moose! He was the best dog I’ve ever had. He crossed the rainbow bridge last week. I don’t know how you found his picture or how my daughter found your website, but seeing his smiling face featured on your page, certainly made my day.

I had a mix of Newfoundland on his mom’s side, and his father was a mix of German Shepard+erdelterrier. He was super smart. I lost him to cruel people in the area, as that was back in Russia … he was soooo smart and sweet, that I never was able to get another dog since, 20 years ago …
