He’s not bothered by the leash at all. His resistance to walking basically boils down to wanting to lie down and eat sticks, grass, dirt, and any other thing he can find. I like to let him explore the things he likes, but I can’t let him constantly eat these things. Any suggestions?

My 8-year old Maltipoo doesn’t want to walk either. He loves the stroller! So I walk him in stroller. After about 3 blocks I take him out of stroller and he starts to walk because he knows the shorter way home!

Then he’ll lie there for a few seconds. I learned to let him do his little fit and when he’s ready he’ll get up. It’s hilariously cute, but if I am in a rush – – not so much. I am patient and I make fun of him while he does it. It’s really taught me to stop and just wait until he’s done.
