Sorry to hear about your pooch, and we wish her a speedy recovery.
We think light-up leashes can be very helpful for many puppers and their owners, but you do obviously need to monitor them carefully and prevent them from chewing on the leash.
I’ll add a mention of this to the article.

I brought one because my dog is little and dark colored so I would hope it would help cars to see her while walking. I had the leash for two days and my dog did what most dog. SHE CHEWED ON THE LEASH! While the leashes rechargeable mechanism is a lithium battery. Lithium batteries are deadly to dogs. She became very sick (vomiting, dehydration, etc) Months later we are still dealing with stomach problems. I would definitely have not listed this leash in the best leashes out there, I now use reflective materials which is easier to maintain and I have no worries if she chews on her leashes.
